GATINEAU CLEANSER - review

Hey girls :) Last christmas my family so kindly purchased me a years subscription to ilovethisbox which is like the Australian equivalent to the American birch box, glossy box etc. I will explain more about the box when I do a review on the April box and products (which im very exctied to receive)

But today I want to talk about a my FAVOURITE product I have received in the Febuary box I believe.

This is the 50ml sample I received it is called Modéractive Primrose Gel Cleanser by GATINEAU and I cannot sing its praises enough! When it comes to skincare I am shamely extremely lazy! I would just like to use one product to remove my eye makeup and cleanse my face. Now I will say that GATINEAU says to avoid the eye area but me being a rebel an all ;) ( kid) I use this product on my eyes without any irritation, stinging or ANY type of discomfort. In the shower I apply a small amount of product onto my hands, rub them together then cleanse my face, rubbing the cleanser all over including my eyes. I find it cuts through my waterproof mascara with ease without scrubbing and when I come out of the shower.....NO PANDA EYES! YAY This product doesn't leave my skin dry and tight like others cleansers I've tried I give it a 9/10!

Here is the description that GATINEAU gives:

    owls owls owls

Sooo I may have a slight owl-bsession ( see what I did there ;) ) , especially when they are in jewelry form! I don't know why I like them so much but I do! From photo frames to little figurines I find them so cute and dainty. As far as jewelry goes my owl necklaces are my go to pieces, I find they jazz up any boring outfit and 9 times out of 10 others seem to like them to, I always seem to get complemented and asked where I purchased them.

I thought I would share with you my favourite owl-y jewelry!

The first owl in the picture was the first owl I ever bought and I still love it! It did originally have black beads for eyes but one fell off so I pulled the other off, I couldn't bear throw him away haha.
I love to layer the necklace with a chunky black and white scarf, it is very long and peeps out the bottom. I believe it was from diva.

The second owl my sister bought me for my 16th birthday. Its has more of an 'elegant' look i'd say and works very well with a lace top. It was from equip.

The third owl is newest to my collection! I love all the bright colours, I only pair this owl with plain coloured t-shirts as it has a lot going on by itself.
My mum bought it from a gorgeous little boutique in Tasmania called chille.

I just had to include these cute little stud earings in this blog, I love how elegant they are and the beautiful soft pink colour sets them off nicely.
These were on sale at forever new :)

Hope you had a HOOT reading this blog.....and I am sorry for all the puns, couldn't help myself haha

    Luscious Lips

Dry, cracked, flaky or peeling! None of these words should ever be used to describe your beautiful lips! Here is the secret to prevent these woeful words........EXFOLIATE! I have 3 simple methods of exfoliation to get your lips back in to tip top shape.

    YOU WILL NEED

    Sugar
    Olive Oil
    Lemon Juice
    Face Washer
    Toothbrush
    Small Bowl
    Teaspoon

    METHOD 1 - DIY Scrub

This exfoliation method is by far my favourite. Its the least abrasive and works most effectively for my lips. Its also the most beneficial as it is made out of lemon juice which contains citric acid that naturally removes dead skin cells and also olive oil which has great nourishing and hydrating effects on the skin. The best thing is its dead easy to make and uses everyday house hold items.

In a small bowl place 1 teaspoon of sugar and add a few drops of both lemon juice and olive oil. Then combine all ingredients. If you find the mixture is to runny, simply add more sugar.

Before applying scrub to lips, wet a face washer with warm water and press onto your lips for a minute, this will just help soften the dead skin and make it easier to remove. Next apply the scrub with your fingers and move in circular motions for 30 seconds then simply wash with warm water and apply your favourite lip balm to protect and seal in moisture. (:

    METHOD 2 - Toothbrush Exfoliation

This method is so simple and quick you can use it before you leave for a night out so your lipstick looks extra fab on your smoooooth lips! I suggest using a soft bristle toothbrush kept separately just for your lips. Pour a little olive oil onto the brush to help it glide smoothly over your lips and scrub in circular motions for 30 seconds. Rinse your lips with warm water and apply your favourite lip balm.

METHOD 3 - Face Washer Exfoliation

With this 3rd method, simply wet a face washer with warm water and in circular motions rub your lips to remove all the dead skin. Apply your favourite lip balm. Easy as!

With any one of the methods of exfoliation I wouldn't recommend doing this treatment more than 3 times a week, it would be to abrasive for your lips. Hope this helps <3

    Removing Sparkly Polish

SPARKLES! I am a sucker for anything sparkly and shiny, my brother has taken to calling me 'Magpie' when we go shopping because apparently I have to stop and take a peep at anything shiny! So..this maybe true. Like most girls I adore glitter nail polish, my all time favorite is  'Teenage Dream'- by OPI. This polish is Ah-mazing, the glitter is so thick it does not require a coloured base coat to show up clearly. But as they say beauty is pain, and this is very true when it comes to removing glitter nail polish, its painful in the fact it takes forever to remove completly, for some reason glitter nail polish seems to have super glue-like abillities to stick to your nails. But alas an easy simple way to remove the glitter polish has been discovered! And it just takes a few simple steps.

    You Will Need

    Nail Polish Remover
    Cotton Balls
    Aluminum Foil

    STEP 1

Apply a generous amount of nail polish remover to cotton ball

    STEP 2

Place cotton ball on your nail

    STEP 3

Take a small square of foil, place on top of the cotton ball and wrap up your finger

    STEP 4

Once the foil has been on for 10-20 seconds, apply pressure onto your nail as you slide the foil off in one swift movement, and TADA! your nail should be squeaky clean!

I have found this method of nail polish removing perfect for red and dark brown polishes also as the colours tend to get on your skin when removing the polish.
Well I hope you enjoyed this handy hint! Please share your favourite sparkly polish in the comments and any requests you have for me :D
